Okay, so it’s not the most original title for my first blog and it sure as hell isn’t going to win any prizes for originality but what can you do? It is what it is. My first blog post, finally I’ve got round to it.
So why am I writing this blog, whats it’s purpose? Well, needless to say I am yet another one of those god awful ‘foodies’ who feel the need to post everything they eat on social media, much to the annoyance one’s friends I would imagine. A blog seemed the next logical step. Somewhere that I could write about an incredible bottle of Chassagne-Montrachet I had, or a beautiful piece of cheese from a particular deli in town without estranging myself from both my friends and family.
So here I am, posting my musings into the deep abyss of the internet, perhaps someone will read them, perhaps they won’t. For me at least, it is a sanctuary to compile my food and drink adventures, in one place and for all I know, someone out there may just experience some small flutters of pleasure themselves in reading about them.
I am lucky enough to live in (what I think) is one of the best cities in the UK. Bristol is such a vibrant place filled with wonderful bohemian pockets, beautiful green spaces, artists, musicians and a food scene that just seems to get better and better each week. In the past 5 years I have seen some really exceptional places open up in our city that have been real game changers. This has caused a lot of the older places to have to make the choice of upping the ante or falling by the wayside. Either way, it’s an exciting place to be at the moment thats for sure.
The wonderful thing about a blog is that I can write about anything that takes my fancy, without having to self edit. A place where I can truly indulge myself in the salubrious gratification I get from food and as with food, it is always better to be shared with others.
